An attempt to capture my travels - the diversity of the places I visit, the people I meet, touch & feel, sound & sense... Often, this helps me, express the satisfactory experiences of life, & at times, the not so good experiences too
Tuesday
Sigh...
Straight road
Gentle curves
Breathless view
Long tunnels
Stone bridges
Highway clouds
Bodiless trucks
Toll plaza
Lake at Khopoli
Valley and hills
Fog and rain
Six lane highway with a lane shoulder on either side
The Mumbai Pune expressway lacks the Indian road chaos; almost feel one with the wind. Makes me want roads like that in Bombay – just the roads, where I can drive for 10feet and not find a single ditch, crater, pothole. Possible you think?

Open skies nice weather - driving with that speacial one, can be romantic, need to get away frm the city soon!!
Did you have a good mtg?
If such roads existed in Mumbai....then who would wax eloquent about the Expressway:))
we drive out on sunday if nothing is planned for and go have lunch in pune and come back. game?
it seems very imaginery. but i too wish we would find roads like you think. life would be soo much nicer, full of fun.is someone hearing this.
Its a dream road yea, so much is possible in India I guess:-)
Hey Mee - I've travelled that road, remember you said "dont take a flight" - yep the journey was beautiful
possible if the govt relinques the job to pvt infrastructure firms
Gita, Sheila, Arpana, Jim- :-)
Sanjiv - yep
Keshi- guess either we build the pressure for the govt to hand the projects over , or grin n bear:-)
Runa- Yes!!
Yes Mike!
I love the expressway!!! :)
open and straight roads.... heaven to be in ..... good way to relax and getaway after a hectic week...... long drive- best way to venture ahead
Ajeya! Where have you disappeared to? Come back, all's forgiven!:)
Allex- when are you venturing ahead?:)
i think when we start to think we dampen our pace.... a good impulsive kickoff is required...:)
More power to impulse:)
Wish they made something like this between Bangalore n Mangalore too.. The ghat section has been under constant repairs since 2007 and a nightmare to travelers.
Only consolation is the new train service which is almost always booked.
Brian -I once flew Bglr Mglr, and boy was it a scenic landing:) Lush green!
hey,
this one was amazing!
this expressway wuld be on my list of journey's I must take!
